Shopping for items I could alter, I found these beautiful, crystal stemware glasses.  I fell in love with the  shape.  They are different from the usual wine glass shape you find.  It may or may not even be a wine glass; stamping is where my expertise lies.

My first alteration to the glass was to use the Champagne Glass Glitter from the 2010 Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini Catalog around the rim of the glass.  I ran a line of Tombow Multi Purpose Adhesive around the outside of the rim and sprinkled on the chunky glitter.  I love how it glimmers!

I then took a Cozy Christmas votive candle from my favorite brand of candles, Gold Canyon, and spread Tombow Multi Purpose Adhesive over approximately 1/2 of the votive candle and sprinkled on Champagne Glass Glitter.  Love it!  My candle is as glamorous and glittery as my stemware glass.

Before offering the altered candle as part of my class, I first burned a Glass Glitter encrusted votive candle to see how it did.  Certainly needed to know if I would be creating any fire hazards.  The candle melted and the Glass Glitter remained as shiny as it was from the start.  What a pretty candle puddle it made!

To finish off my candle holder with some more handle glitz, I punched a 1-1/4" circle in the center of a 3" x 3" piece of Brushed Gold card stock then centered the 1-1/4" in the 2-1/2" Circle Punch from the Holiday Mini Catalog.

I then took the gold Waffle Paper, again from the Holiday Mini Catalog, drew a circle of Tombow Multi Purpose Adhesive on the 2-1/2" Brushed Gold circle and attached the gold Waffle Paper in small pleats.  Cut a slit into the circle so it can fit around the stem of the glass.  Voila, you now have one fancy dancy candle holder.  Who wouldn't love to receive this as a gift?  As far as my stampers, we may never know.  I don't think any of them were willing to give their candle holder away.  🙂
