On Wednesday evenings I design and prepare projects for the church youth to stamp as a ministry project. For the past three years, they have stamped cards for the Forgotten Man Ministry (jail), thank you card sets for missionaries and table favors for the annual Valentine's Day dinner. It is wonderful for the children to learn to give and not just receive.
Last night was the children's Christmas party. I had a fun stamping game for them. I set out the supplies to stamp a Christmas card: half sheet of white card stock, an open stamp pad, four stamps, a sponge and a pen.
They were told this: "In teams of two, one of you will stamp with the guidance of your teammate a pretty Christmas card for Mrs. Parmenter." They were told the the one guiding could not touch the one stamping. I told them they could sponge their cards and needed to sign them.
Only after they were given instructions did I pull out the blindfolds and tell them the stamper would be blindfolded.
They loved it! I was especially surprised to find the older boys were the most excited about the game.
There were a lot of inky fingers from trying to find the stamp pads!
Here are their Christmas cards. They had 90 seconds to complete their cards. Pretty impressive when you remember they could not see what they were doing. Their teammates provided excellent guidance.
The stamp sets used were Stampin' Up! Delightful Decorations, Serene Snowflakes and Tree Trimmings.
Do you have fun stamping games that would be great for children? If so, please share! I will want to surprise them with a new game next year. Share your game in the comment section below this post to give other stampers additional ideas.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
