With my downline group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators, the Scattered Stampers because we are scattered from coast to coast, we have a virtual swap. One of my team designs a sketch (blueprint) for us to follow when creating our virtual swap card.
For the June swap she created a sketch with three squares down the left side of the card and two on the right. She wrote we could use any shape we wanted. I wonder if she envisioned birds? My birds in flight were stamped with the Betsy's Blossoms stamp set with the five (cool how that worked out!) new 2012-2014 In Color Stampin' Pads.
The FOR YOU is from the new Itty Bitty Banners stamp set. It was the perfect size to fit on the card. I thought about having one of the birds hold it with its mouth. Would you have preferred that to where I placed it at the bottom? Leave a comment below to which option you would like better.
Of course, had to play with my new Fancy Fan Embossing Folder. Doesn't it dress up the plain Whisper White Card Stock? This very simple card was given a touch of glamour with the embossed card stock.
Another little touch to take the card up a notch are the bird wings that were stamped, trimmed with the Paper Snips, and give a lift with a Stampin' Dimensional. Don't you love how added dimension enhances your greeting cards?
The birds are stamped in different, yet coordinating, colors. The Collections, in this case 2012-2014 In Colors, are all designed to coordinate together as well as colors from the other stamp pad collections – Brights, Neutrals, Regals and Subtles.
