Trying to decide what I would stamp for the 4th of July, I thought about what we are celebrating today.  We automatically think fireworks, stars, freedom, the American flag and grilled hotdogs and hamburgers.  All of those are to celebrate this wonderful land I love's birthday.  I need to stamp a patriotic birthday card!

How fun to get to play with my new Make a Cake stamp set.    With the stamp set I could stamp up to three layers.  You just know what order they had to be in from top to bottom:  red, white and blue.

The Stampin' Write Markers made it easy to get my Real Red, white and Midnight Muse cake layers with a Real Red cake dish.   Topping off the cake is the flag banner also in patriotic red, white and blue.  How cool would it be to go to a 4th of July celebration and there was a quite like this there?   Once someone else sliced into it, I'd line up for a piece.  I am imagining it is a white cake underneath the pretty frosting.  Yum!

The Happy Birthday stamp is from the Stampin' Up! Bring on the Cake stamp set.  This set came to mind following the decision to stamp a patriotic birthday cake.  The outline images allowed me to color in the letters with the small tip of the Real Red and Midnight Muse Stampin' Write Markers.   Again, in order of red, white and blue.

The Broadsheet Alphabet was used to stamp USA.  What fun the alphabet is.  With just three letters, all in different styles, it represents the differing cultures that all make up this wonderful country.

an you have an American patriotic card without stars.  You could, but you don't have to when you can add a few stars using the Pennant Parade stamp set.  The patriotic birthday card was looking good without them, but the addition of the stamped stars was the finishing touch.

AMERICA

My country, 'tis of thee,
Sweet land of liberty,
Of
thee I sing.

Land where my fathers' died,
Land of the Pilgrims
pride,
From every mountainside
Let freedom ring.

Our fathers' God,
to Thee
Author of liberty
To thee we sing.
Long may our land be
bright
With freedom's holy light;
Protect us by Thy might,
Great God,
our King!
