Flower Soft fall leaves for Take Care stamp set new in the 2012-2013 Stampin' Up! Catalog. Have you heard of Flower Soft? I first saw it on a card a friend sent. Then Godby (God-be) With Us Stamper PATRICIA PAWLOWSKI sent me a beautiful calendar she made using it.
The jar comes packed tight with the bits of colored moss-like material. Seems like it would be nearly impossible to use up a jar of it because a little goes a long way. On my Stamping Smiles Page on Facebook, a reader shared you need to fluff up the material before applying. Great advice.
You need a good adhesive for the colored sprinkles to adhere to. I found Crystal Effects works great. You have the small tip to spread around the Crystal Effects. Another bonus of Crystal Effects is it does not dry immediately, giving you time to sprinkle on the Flower Soft and gently press it down.
I used the Spring Flower Soft to give the leaves of the new Take Care branch in fall colors. Seems funny to use something named Spring for fall, but it worked quite well. Have a closer look.
You certainly want a good adhesive because you just know whoever gets your hand made card will absolutely have to run her fingers over it. I confess I couldn't resist!
The colors in the Spring Flower Soft looked like Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight and perhaps Lucky Limeade. How perfect the leaf pattern from the International Bazaar Designer Series Paper has those colors! You know coordination makes me a happy girl.
Did you notice the other little touch of the textured card stock behind the Whisper White piece? It was embossed with the Woodgrain Embossing Folder from the 2012 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog. Tree branch, grain embossing. You just gotta love the continuity!
The stamped greeting is one of the stamps from the Friendly Phrases stamp set. The mix of script and plain text font suited the tree branch with fluffy, fall leaves.
While the stamp and Stampin' Write Markers are out, don't forget to stamp a small part of the branch inside your card and on the envelope. Now we are all kinds of fancy with our coordination!
