The Stampin’ Up! Thoughts & Prayers stamp set includes some very nice greetings for handmade get well, sympathy, thinking of you and even praying for you. Then there is the large tree stamp and the flowing vine with flowers and leaves stamp. Godby (God-be) with Us Stamper BEVERLY DEEL chose a different greeting than included in the stamp set to make a beautifully sweet & simple handmade anniversary card with the flowering vine stamp.
Beverly’s placement of the flowering vines is just right. There is a knack to getting them close without overlapping. Like the question, “How many licks does it take to get to the center of to Tootsie Roll Tootsie Pop?”, we may never know if Bev got it right on the first try. I am a full believer in God gave us two sides of card stock for a reason. If at first you do not like it, turn it over and try again. For placement that consistently close without overlapping, it would be deploying the Stamp-a-ma-jig.
You have to love the embossed polka dots. When stamping and embossing the same piece of card stock, you will want to stamp first to have a flat surface then emboss. Trying to get an even image on an embossed piece of card stock would be challenging if not impossible.
So, our question is was the embossing planned all along? Or did Bev sit back and think it looks nice but embossing would get it the little something extra. Another Tootsie Roll Tootsie Pop speculation that the world may never know. Sure telling my age this evening with that commercial reference. If you know what I am referring to, you are right there with me. 🙂
