With a few swipes of ink across some card stock, you have a great background for a handmade thank you card. How much easier would it be if the swipes of ink were actually from a rubber stamp? That is exactly what you can have with the Stampin’ Up! Happy Watercolor Stamp Set.
This Happy Watercolor card also has a bit of a 2014 Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-bration sneak peek with the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper (free with $50 purchase starting January 28!).
The Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper was used not only on the handmade thank you card, but also to make the coordinating envelope. Did you know you can make your own envelopes in many, many different sizes with the Envelope Punch Board? It’s true, you absolutely can. You can make envelopes for cards that do not fit a standard size card envelope or for those you want to be extra special.
For me, if there is a beautiful Stampin’ Up! envelope available in the size I want or need, that will be my first choice. Keeping it easy and fast is what I need. It sure is nice to have the option to make a card to suit my desires and be able to make an envelope that will fit it well. Probably will not surprise you that ill-fitting envelopes are not one of my favorite things. 🙂
Getting back to the card itself, the brush swipes of watercolor stamp was stamped with Crisp Cantaloupe Classic Stampin’ Pad ink. The flower was then stamped right over top with Basic Black Classic Stampin’ Pad ink. The idea was to have most of the flower with the swipes of color behind it.
How the ink gets gradually lighter truly makes the brushes of watercolor look realistic. One of my stampers was just fascinated with how Stampin’ Up! could do that. When you can see and feel it. The stamp is etched deeper for the darker area. Pretty cool.
One more note about the card, the thank you stamp is included with the Happy Watercolor Stamp Set. Well, let’s give you a look at all the stamps included.
