Stampin' Up! Watercolor Winter CardAre you like my friend, love the process of making your own handmade cards but do appreciate having card kits on hand from when time gets away from you?  It’s still handmade. You put it together with your two hands and perhaps even give it a little twist.  Just had a little help.  We all could use some now and then.

When the Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Winter Simply Created Kit was included in the Year-End Closeouts for 30% off, my stamping friend told me to add it to her order.

When it arrived, we just had to open it and play.  She made this Watercolor Winter card while I made the one with the sled (picture below).   I thought how quick and easy it would be to use my Blendabilities.  The tree on the left was colored with the Dark Old Olive Blendabilities Marker and the other with the Medium Old Olive Blendabilities Marker (both in the set of three pack).  She hadn’t experienced the Blendabilities before.  She was impressed with the results.  Easy to use, no brushmarks and intense color.  Ding, ding, ding, we’ve created another Blendabilities enthusiast.

I colored the sled with the Cherry Cobbler Medium Blendabilites Marker and did just a touch of shading with the Cherry Cobbler Dark Blendabilites.

Did I mention that everything you see, including the envelopes, are all in the kit? The exception is ink, greeting stamps and adhesive.  We decide the sled card would also make for a marvelous winter birthday card.  The Happy Birthday from the Occasions 4 You Stamp Set looks like it was made for the Bermuda Bay strip.

There are four different cards in the Watercolor Winter Simply Created Kit.  I made one more.  Again using the Old Olive Blendabilities.  This time I did more shading.

It wasn’t until the next day that it dawned on me the kit is called Watercolor Winter and I had used the Blendabilites.  That’s what it’s all about, isn’t it.  Putting our own twist on the card kits.

It’s too late to order the Watercolor Wonder Kit for this years Christmas cards (if you want them delivered by December 24),  but it isn’t too late to order and make the sled cards for January birthdays!  And have a Christmas card kit on hand if time gets away from you next year.  You’ll save 30% when you order the Watercolor Winter Kit by January 5, 2015, unless supplies run out first, in my online store!
