In yesterday’s post, I shared a cozy winter-themed tutorial featuring my latest Stampin’ Up! Snowy Wonder card. This DIY Christmas card, inspired by the beautiful September-December 2024 Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalog, was too irresistible not to recreate. The design caught my eye, and I just had to CASE (Copy And Share Everything) this charming snow-dusted scene! Today, I’m excited to share the step-by-step process to bring this festive card to life, perfect for spreading holiday cheer.

It Starts with the Measurements

The most challenging part of recreating this handmade Christmas card was sizing the three white panels. I first tried making them each 1-3/4″ wide, but they ended up too close together. When I reduced the width to 1-5/8″, the gap felt too wide. My goal was to maintain equal spacing between the panels and ensure the distance from the top and bottom was balanced.

It was a tiny adjustment to the perfect measurement. I split the difference by decreasing the original 1-3/4″ by 1/16″. It was worth the time to get it just right. You can see how balanced and appealing the equal green surrounding the white panels is. All the measurements are listed below.

Building a Mountain Scene

The placement is easy because the stamps are photopolymer (clear rubber). The trees and mountains are close together with very little overlap. The mountains and snowflakes were stamped with Pool Party Classic Stampin’ Pad ink, and the evergreen trees with Garden Green. Both are the colors used for the snowflake-patterned paper. This design is from the Snowy Scenes 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. It covers the entire front of the card.

The Cabin

The cabin nestled in the mountains and trees looks so cozy and inviting. It was stamped in Early Espresso Classic Stampin’ Pad ink and die-cut with the coordinating Snowy Wonder Dies. Oh, how we love our die-cutting machines and dies. They make quick work of getting an even border around stamped images. The added dimension and placement on the two panels add a lot of charm.

The Greeting

The “Season’s Greetings” stamp set includes the Snowy Wonder Stamp. The simple angle cut with my Paper Snips added an appealing touch.
