There is something so charming about the giraffe in the Silly Safari stamp set. I saw a sample in the Stampin’ Up! catalog that I just had to recreate, but I couldn’t help making a few “Shelly” changes!

Why I Swapped the Ink

The original sample suggested a lighter green, but I felt this safari needed more depth. I went with Mossy Meadow for the foliage. It’s amazing how a simple ink swap can change the entire “temperature” of a card! It makes the orange tones in the cardstock and the giraffe’s spots really pop.

The “Little Surprise”

I didn’t stop at just changing the colors, though. I wanted this birthday card to have a bit of personality. I’ve added a fun little surprise to the greeting that you really have to see to appreciate.

It’s a simple addition, but it completely changes how the recipient interacts with the card!
