Die_cut_blooms_styled_silver_slide_ Do you love the look of cut-out flowers but not the work involved?  Then you will love this.  The flowers on this beautiful card are from the Die-Cut Blooms in the Occasions Mini Collection 2008.

The Die-Cut Blooms include four 12×12" sheets of die-cut flowers.  One sheet each of Bashful Blue, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive.

The Die-Cut Blooms coordinate perfectly with the Summer Picnic Paper also found in the Occasions Mini Collection, as you can see from this card.

And, there is still more from the Occasions Mini Collection – the greeting is from the Full of Life stamp set and the Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware.

Are you wondering how my Styled Silver slide became red jeweled?  Let me share with you just how I did that.

First you need a non-porous surface, such as a, a piece of acetate sheet or plastic lid or an old CDMixing_crystal_effects_and_ink_re_5   headed for the trash.  Squeeze a small amount of Crystal Effects onto your non-porous surface.  Next, add a drop or ink refill, I used Real Red Classic Ink Refill. Use a toothpick to mix.

Using the same toothpick, start filling the Styled-Silver slide with the Crystal Effects mixture.  If you get some on the top of the slide, not to worry.  You can easily pick off any overage after it dries.

Filling_slide_twoYou can build up your jeweled slide by simply adding another layer or two of the Crystal Effects mixture.  The first layer colored the bottom of the slide but did not fill it.  The next layer gives the slide the look of being filled with jewels.

To complete this card you will need a couple of punches.  Remember, I promised no cutting.  The center of the flower showcasing the jeweled Styled Silver slide is from the Boho Blossoms Punch.  The leaves are made using the 5 Petal Flower Punch.Close_up_of_jeweled_slide_2
