Keep on Track with Stampin’ Up! Punches!

When I saw a card very similar to this one on the Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Website, I knew immediately I needed to make one for my little brother's birthday.  Even though he is all grown up now, he loves going to see trains and takes tons of pictures.  It reminds me a cross-stitching I did for my husband years ago.  It reads

Men are just little boys grown tall.
Hearts don't change much, after all.

Okay, back to our punch train.  Bet you know someone this card would be perfect for.  Oh, momentary flash of genius :),  you could add some rail cars for a longer train to create a terrific scrapbook page!

The railroad tracks are made from the Spiral Punch.  Is that just not brilliant?

The body of the train is the Key Tag Punch. The cab is from the 3/4" Square Punch with a 1/4" Square Punch punched from the center to create the window.  The top is just a piece of Basic Black card stock I hand trimmed.  The base strip of the train is the Word Window Punch trimmed at an angle on both ends and one of the rounded long edges trimmed off.  The smoke stack is the 3/4" Square Punch hand trimmed at angle on two sides.

The rail cars are made using the 1-1/4" Square Punch, 3/4" Square Punch and 1/2" Circle Punch.

The train wheels use the 1/2" Circle Punch and 1/4" Circle Punch.

The heaping load in the rail cars are from the Round Tab Punch.

The smoke is the 1/4" Circle Punch and 1/8" Handheld Circle Punch.
