The greeting from this gorgeous stamp set, Home for Christmas from the Holiday Mini Catalog, spoke to my heart. More often than not, we are far from home. It reads,
Though far and wide
on earth we roam,
at Christmastime
our hearts come home.
My favorite part of my December calendar are the corners. I was searching, unsuccessfully for my Photo Corners Punch to add a splash of red. Then I spied my Scallop Square Punch and thought it just make for a great corner. And, it did!
I used full squares in both corners because cutting the square in half would have given me a flat edge and not the rounded one from the scallops you see here.
The colors used are Sage Shadow, Handsome Hunter, Real Red and Whisper White. The bow was colored in with red from the Watercolor Pencils. The falling snow was created with the White Gel Pen.
