Earlier this year when I received my tin with the Flower Fusion felt flowers, I was just amazed at how many flowers came in it. I know, it tells us in the catalog there are more than 130, but seeing for yourself is just so much better than reading.
As I was showing off all the pretty flowers, still with amazement of how many were included, I knew there was just something adorable that could be done with the tin. And, there was! The Whisper White Note Cards with Envelopes fit in the tin beautifully. Because of the added bulk from the felt flowers, I was able to fit 6 cards in it comfortably.
The particular Designer Series Paper I used in the picture is now retired. But, in the new Patterns Designer Series Paper there are packages in each of the three Flower Fusion felt flowers – Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive. They and the Flower Fusion would make a beautiful gift set!
I learned more about Stampin' Up! glues designing for this class. First is that the Anywhere Glue Sticks are incredible for gluing the Designer Series Paper to the tin box! While waiting for the designer paper I ordered for the project, I first used a piece of retired designer paper. A week later it was holding well, not curling at the edges. I thought I would pretty easily peel off the paper. Not so! The Anywhere Glue Stick held so well that I had to scrape it off with a knife.
The other glue I discovered to be wonderful was the Tombow Multipurpose Adhesive. It has a fine tip end and a brush end. Using the brush end, I spread the adhesive on the back of the felt Flower Fusion flowers to the top of the tin and to the cards. Easy to work with and holds very well.
While I was learning more about adhesives, the women who attend my class learned just how easily the Crop-A-Dile punches through the metal tin box. You could see they were prepared to put all their might into it and all were thrilled with just how little pressure it took to punch through. (The Crop-A-Dile is a blessing to women with arthritis.) The flowers on the front of the tin are attached with a Silver Brad only.
