Are you ever minding your own business to end up presented with an unexpected challenge? I was holding my monthly scrapbooking class when I received a call. The woman was told she was referred to me for some help with a birthday card invitation design. Would I be home the next day?
Of course, I can offer advice. Instead, it turned out I was to do a lot more than offer advice. Her idea was pretty cool. The birthday party is for her mother's 80th birthday party. She brought two photos – one of her mother as a baby and a recent photo. She wanted the baby photo on the front of the invitation with the birth weight and the current picture inside with a message she had not yet decided on. Have I mentioned she wanted the 50 invitations made by the next day?
My husband is the computer guy. He scanned in the photos and did his magic. I am not showing the full card with photos because I did not get permission.
Printed above the baby photo: May 3, 1930: 1lb 12oz
Printed above the current photo: May 3, 2010: None of your business
Isn't that a hoot?
The pictures were printed in black and white. The inside of the invitation was stamped with the Introducing and Vintage Vogue Stampin' Up! stamp sets. The vine stamp from Vintage Vogue was stamped with Bravo Burgundy ink. Very simple, but elegant in the simplicity.
