A new stamper and customer purchased the Loads of Love stamp set and came by to learn how to watercolor.  She loved the look but was not sure how to achieve it with Stampin' Up! products.  I couldn't wait to show her my favorite technique, watercoloring.

Do you know how to watercolor with the stamp pads?  With the ink pad closed, you press down on the lid.  When you open the stamp pad, you will find some ink on the inside of the lid.

The easiest way to watercolor is to use the Aqua Painters.  Unlike a watercolor brush, it provides the just the right amount of water.  Not too little, not too much.

With the AquaPainter, pick up a bit of color and start watercoloring your image.  Be sure it is stamped in either Basic Black or Basic Brown Classic Ink or with the Black StazOn Pad.  All three are waterproof and will not bleed when wet.

With the AquaPainters, you are soon watercoloring like a pro!  She had a ball.

Wanting to make her Christmas cards with the Loads of Love stamp set and Subtles card stock, I pulled out a strip of the Candy Cane Specialty Designer Series Paper.    From there, it just seemed as if the card started to fall into place.

My favorite pattern in the Candy Cane Specialty Designer Series Paper is the striped with the red glittery stripe.   With the paper as the inspiration, she used Real Red, Baja Breeze, Garden Green and Blushing Bride stamp pads to stamp and/or watercolor.

Wanting just a little something to jazz the card up a bit more, I excitedly got out the Brights Glimmer Brads from the 2010 Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini Catalog.  Don't you just love the glimmering hubcaps?

Is there a technique you have seen used on a project on my site that you are unsure of how to do?  You do not have to stop by to learn!  Send an email to shelly@stampinsmiles.com describing, or linking to, the project and technique you are curious about.   Your request very well be made into a video tutorial.  It has been said my videos are like having me there!
