Did you see the 12" x 12" scrapbook page I posted last week using the Candy Cane Christmas Rub-Ons and Candy Cane Specialty Designer Series Paper? View it here.
Looking at the hanging ornaments print paper from the Candy Cane Christmas pack of paper, I knew I wanted the ornaments hanging from the top of the page. Instead of the usual straight cut, I drew a wavy line and cut along it. Doesn't it add a nice touch? It is those little touches that make a project.
The rub-ons are still from the same 1/2 package of Candy Cane Christmas Rub-Ons. Can you believe it? I have used them for six projects in one class and on 12 x 12 scrapbook pages. And, there are still more! I have designed two more 12 x 12 scrapbook pages using them. A fourth two-page layout is a real possibility.
The hanging ornaments rub-ons are on and layered with oval die-cuts from the Ovals Originals Die. I quickly cut the ovals using the die and my Sizzix Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine. The time-saving alone is incredible! Of course, all the different dies and textures are wonderful, but who couldn't use a product that saves you time?
Speaking of time-savings and the Big Shot, my die-cut letters are in Real Red card stock and die-cut from the Timeless Type Junior Alphabet Medium Sizzlits. I liked how the title in red stood out so well against the designer paper.
The ornament was made using the Ornament Punch. The top of the ornament was made punching a small portion of the polka dot paper from the Candy Cane Christmas paper. Coordination – love it!
The oval decoration on the red ornament is a Candy Cane Christmas rub-on punched out with the new 3/4" x 15/16" Oval Medium Punch from the 2010 Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini Catalog. It was a perfect fit to decorate my ornament punched piece.
