Don't you just love how the Stampin' Up! catalogs are truly Idea Books? There are times you just want to copy a project exactly and other times the sample is a jumping off point.
My friend's daughter is getting married. She just loved the wedding card sample made with the Stampin' Up! exclusive Sizzix Elegant Lines Embossing Folder. I just happened (wink, I love the embossing folders!) it so we could make a wedding invitation sample for her daughter.
The Baja Breeze card stock appealed to both of us, but because her daughter is lively and bubbly, I asked if she were to pick a blue (her favorite color) which one would she pick. I was not at all surprised when she said her daughter would choose Pacific Point. But, I was sceptical if the color would look good for a wedding card.
Make a note, because it doesn't happen often, I was wrong. :) The Pacific Point paired with the Whisper White makes for wedding card that is pretty as the beautiful bride. As usual, the card is so much better in person.
The finishing touch, not in the catalog card sample, are the Basic Jewel Rhinestones. And, they are budget friendly! There are 50 each of three different sizes that fit perfectly into the embossed circles.
I tried the Basic Pearls Jewels first. Oh did I mention her daughter is thinking a beach theme? As much as I love the pearls, the card just popped with the rhinestones!
And, then for the ultimate finishing touch. Do you see the three rows of rhinestones along the top right on the sheet of rhinestones? Those are all attached together so you can have a pretty row of rhinestones. We didn't need a pretty row of rhinestones, we needed on small rhinestone.
Removing one rhinestone from the row of rhinestones was pretty easy. I lifted it off the sheet and placed the tiny rhinestone on the stone image of the ring from the Word Play stamp set.
My favorite part is how the stamp includes images to show the reflection of the stone. As you can tell, it is the small things that make me happy. Seriously though, it made the card.
The "happy I do day" was stamped with Pacific Point Classic Ink on Whisper White card stock. Like the sample in the catalog, I punched it out with the 1-3/4" Circle Punch.
The ribbon is Whisper White 5/8" Satin Ribbon. The greeting is punched with the 1/16" Circle Punch and hanging from the satin ribbon with white crochet thread.
We were both very happy with the card. Now we just have to wait and see what the daughter thinks. If she does like it, it will be an economical and easy card to make. Don't you wish they were all like that?!
You may not need to make wedding invitations, but this card would surely make a beautiful wedding card. The Elegant Lines Embossing Folder is only $7.95.
