A friend tried his hand at making maple syrup for the first time this year. My husband loves maple syrup. Our friend set some of his syrup aside just for my husband. Well, that certainly deserves a hand-stamped thank you card.
Before I did any stamping for this card, I used the Stampin' Up! Square Lattice Embossing Folder with my 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" rectangle with 2-1/4" x 3-1/2" opening Sizzix Embossing Folder Chipboard Template to emboss everywhere but the center of the card. This keep the center flat, or un-embossed, so I could stamp directly onto the card stock. My sailboat is framed with embossing everywhere but the center rectangle.
The embossing with the Sizzix folders through the Sizzix Big Shot add a lot to your hand-made cards. Visualize the same card without the embossing. Not nearly as attractive.
The Sail Away stamp set is from the 2011 Stampin' Up! Summer Mini Catalog. It is a stamp set of one. I do not have a crystal ball, but since the introduction of single stamp sets in the mini catalogs, no have made it onto a carryover list or into the next Idea Book & Catalog. What am I saying? Based on my experience, I believe the Sail Away stamp will no longer be available after the Summer Mini Catalog is gone.
