It has been 10 years since we as a country experienced the completely unnecessary and senseless act of terrorism that has forever changed our country and every last one of us.

As a child, I often heard adults talk about remembering exactly where they were when they heard that President John F. Kennedy had been shot.  In 1963 I was not yet born and did not understand the impact such an event would have on people.  Until many years later with the explosion the Challenger space shuttle.   Tragic, but today we are remembering and honoring the victims and heroes of 9-11-2001.

What were you doing when you first heard?  I vividly remember the moment, as if it were yesterday.  The television and radio were silent because I was concentrating on my Bible study.  The phone rang and my dear friend, Pamela Nelson, asked if I was watching the news.    You know the shock, horror and disbelief as you watched the planes fly into the World Trade Center Twin Towers.

As I sit here teary-eyed with the flood of memories of that moment, day and days to follow, I want to share with you a handmade card I stamped in honor of everyone affected by the tragedy of 9-11-2001.

Do you recognize the stamp?  I have had this special stamp for ten years.    Stampin' Up! created the special edition God Bless America stamp in remembrance of September 11, 2001, tragedy.

But, you may not know, Stampin' Up! donated every penny of the purchase price of all the God Bless America stamps to the September 11 Fund created by the United Way and New York Community Trust.

Stampin' Up! customers added the special edition rubber stamp to their orders in droves.  Hostesses received no hostess benefits, demonstrators received no commissions and Stampin' Up! incurred the cost of producing the special edition stamp.    Together, we raised a lot of money for the September 11th Fund.  I trust we were able to touch many lives.
