The Mica Flakes road is hard to miss, but what I want to point out is the added glitz from the limited-edition Dazzling Details also found the in the 2011 Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini Catalog. The best I can describe the Dazzling Details is it is like glitter glue. But, not big chunks of glitter, but delicate sparkles. Look how the Dazzling Details spread on in a thin line add so much sparkle. It is just like when the sun shines on the snow and it sparkles as if covered in diamonds.
Most times I mat with a piece of card stock one-quarter (1/4) inch larger. That is my standard rule of thumb. But, occasionally I will mat with a card stock piece only one-eight (1/8) of an inch or one-half (1/2) and inch larger. In this case, I wanted a bit of color between my stamped, watercolored and bedazzled card stock piece. So, I added a piece of Chocolate Chip card stock only 1/8" larger (this gives only 1/16" on each side).
Loved the added touch of color the Chocolate Chip Card Stock to my handmade greeting card. The Garden Green card stock base is warm and earthy. The Chocolate Chip card stock added to the warmth. And, don't you think my red pickup truck just pops off the card amongst all the earthy, warmth? My guy is one happy camper. He just visited the Duddles Tree Farms and found the perfect Christmas tree.
Then I spied on my stamping table the Dazzling Details I just used on the Christmas trees. Then a flash of inspiration hit. Could I add a line of Dazzling Details, almost like a string of Christmas tree lights, on the Chocolate Chip mat? I love how it turned out. Have a closer look:
Because the glitter in the Dazzling Details is fine, it adds some glitz without being gaudy. Naturally, in person it is so pretty. Especially when you can turn the handmade greeting card ever so slightly and see the Dazzling Details sparkle.
