We have just a few more days before you can order from the 2012 Stampin' Up! Occasions Mini Catalog. While you are waiting, I made a quick handmade thank you card this afternoon with the new Stampin' Up! Mixed Bunch stamp set, Blossom Punch and Twitterpated Designer Series Paper. Have a look.
When I was looking through the 12 different patterns of my new Twitterpated Designer Series Paper, when I spotted the Basic Gray paper, it reminded me of a color combination I did for a card several years ago. And, then not again until today. The color combination is a striking So Saffron and Basic Gray.
The funny thing about the So Saffron / Basic Gray combination, someone just down the street painted there house in the soft yellow with the darker gray trim. Two colors I would not have normally put together, but they look great.
My flower from the Mixed Bunch stamp set is stamped in So Saffron and punched out out so nicely with the Blossom Punch.
I had one of the new larger size Large Pearl Basic Jewels in the center but changed it out for a Circle Fire Rhinestone Brad. Perhaps I was drawn to it because it is the same color with the yellow stone and silver case?
What was fun and different for this card was that I used the Stampin' Dimensionals between the two layers of punched flowers. The second punched flower is not stamped; it is So Saffron Card Stock. Don't you like how it pops out against the Basic Gray background paper?
That sure is not your typical view. :)
Before debossing (using the indented side) the front of my card with the Finial Press Embossing Folder, I first stamped my thank you greeting from the Sincere Salutations stamp set with Basic Gray Classic Ink Pad. Stamping it after it had been embossed would have been tricky.
One of my downline thought she didn't care for the Mixed Bunch stamp set. I know when we look at a stamp set we visualize using them together. The stamp I used on my card above is such a different style than the other two. I told her to look at each of the flower stamps alone, covering the others if need be. With a new eye, she decided she would have to have the new set. Well, naturally. It is pretty AND has a coordinating punch! Does it get any better?
