Handmade country Christmas card with the Stampin' Up! Orchard Harvest Designer Series Paper inspired snowflake die-cut.  The lovely die-cut snowflake is one of the three with the Snow Flurry Bigz Die in the 2012 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog.

This card took me by surprise.  There I was eyeing my Orchard Harvest Designer Series Paper for the blue gingham pattern for my snowflake.  I liked what I saw when I turned it over for the pattern you see.

After putting it next to several colors used in the paper, the Early Espresso was the best.  I really liked it, but only after showing my husband the colors I was thinking of using to be sure I had not lost all my senses, did I continue.

Isn't it something else?   For the die-hards who believe snowflakes need to be blue or white, there is a little blue for you. 🙂

The Early Espresso Card Stock showcasing my snowflake is no ordinary card stock.  It is the limited-edition Early Espresso Core'dinations Card Stock.  Like the Snow Flurry Bigz Die and Orchard Harvest Designer Series Paper, it is from the 2012 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog.  It is far from ordinary because just beneath the surface lies a lighter color just waiting to be revealed.

It was embossed with the Northern Flurry Embossing Folder in my Sizzix Big Shot Die-Cut Machine and then sanded to let the lighter color come to the surface.  How much do you love the rustic look?

You can also reveal the underlying color by tearing the Core'dinations Card Stock.  You can see it along the corner I tore off to have room to stamp "Believe" from the Snowflake Soiree stamp set.  The font used for it is a real favorite.
