My mom loves hummingbirds, so there was an immediate draw to the Stampin' Up! Sale-a-bration Bloomin' Marvelous stamp set. In my handmade card below, the hummingbird has his wings fluttering in delight with the huge flowers he found made with the Stampin' Up! Flower Garden Embossing Folder.
My embossed flowers were made with the Primrose Petals Core'dinations Card Stock from the Spring Catalog and the Flower Garden Embossing Folder. The embossed card stock was sanded with a Stampin' Sanding Block to reveal the lighter color lying underneath the surface. No wonder the Bloomin' Marvelous hummingbird is so happy! The embossed flowers are resting upon an oval die-cut with the Stampin' Up! Ovals Collection Framelits Dies from the 2013 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog. The paper is from the Stampin' Up! Birds of a Feather Designer Series Paper. The color is the 2012-2014 In Color Starfruit. The Summer Starfruit is becoming paired with Primrose Petals and Basic Gray.
The hummingbird was colored with the same three colors of Stampin' Write Markers. The hummingbird was also used to add a coordinating decoration to the inside of the card and envelope. Even just stamped on Whisper White Card Stock, he is equally as stunning!
What do you think of the white ribbon across the bottom area of the handmade greeting card? It isn't ribbon! It is one of the two designs of the Delicate Details Lace Tape from the 2013 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog.
The Delicate Details Lace Tape is as easy to use as it is pretty. It looks like ribbon was wrapped around the Summer Starfruit Card Stock layer, but it only goes edge to edge. The Paper Snips cut through it like butter. And, if you are not first pleased with your placement, peel it off and move it. It did not tear the card stock and re-attached with a good hold.
