Other small, solid themed stamp sets like Jolly Bingo Bits and Spooky Bingo Bits have been very popular. I thought the adorable, also set of 24 stamps, Stampin' Up! Spring Sampler stamp set would be carried over from 2013 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog into the 2013-2014 Stampin' Up! Catalog. As I have had to say many times in the past when trying to guess what Stampin' Up! will do, I was wrong.
Lower in the post you will find pictures of stamps included in each of the three stamp sets. Spring Sampler is only available through May 31, 2013, and Jolly Bingo Bits and Spooky Bingo Bits are only available through June 3, 2013. Let's first have a look at the sweet, handmade card I made with the Stampin' Up! Spring Sampler.
As I was choosing which four of the twenty-four stamps to use for my card, I quickly realized it would have been very easy to use this pattern (or layout) to make a handmade Easter card with the bunny, basket of Easter eggs, Easter egg and jelly beans. Or, it would have been easy to make an April showers card with the pair of rain boots, cloud and raindrops and umbrella. Other ideas will quickly form when you play with the Spring Sampler stamp set.
My handmade Spring Sampler card was designed to represent May. After all, April showers bring May flowers. And have we had a rainy April. Bring on the flowers!
Each was stamped on Whisper White Card Stock then centered in the 1" Square Punch and punched out. It is so much easier when you can stamp then punch. If this idea is new to you, you accomplish this by turning the punch upside down, slipping in your stamped card stock, centering the image and then punching.
The 1" Whisper White squares were then layered onto four colors of card stock taken from the Stampin' Up! Sunshine & Sprinkles Designer Series Paper (Melon Mambo, Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight and Lucky Limeade) punched with the retiring Scallop Square Punch. That has been a great punch to use also with the 1-1/4" Square Punch (retiring).
The lighthearted "happy day to you" greeting is from the also retiring Stampin' Up! Friendly Phrases stamp set. It was inked with the Stampin' Write Marker colors listed above for a colorful, coordinated look.
