Have you taken a look at the Stampin' Up! Got Treats stamp set lately?  Did you remember there is a stamp for a St. Patrick's Day card as part of the set?  I sure did.  And look how cute the polka dot shamrock with the "Got Green?" greeting is.  St. Patrick's Day has passed by for this year, but this super simple and sweet handmade card will do just fine for my 25 Days of Retiring Stampin' Up! Stamp Sets posts.

The green with white polka dot background paper is from the Stampin' Up! Be of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper.  And you thought it was just for Christmas.  About half of the 12 patterns are winter/Christmas, but the other half can be used for other occasions.  It was one reason I was drawn to this package because of that versatility.

Polka dot shamrock with polka dot designer paper.  You know the coordination makes my heart happy.

As super simple as my handmade St. Patrick's Day card is, there are a couple of touches that keep it from being ordinary.  The most noticeable is the embossing along the bottom of the Very Vanilla Card Stock card base.  The zigzag embossed line was quickly created with the Borders Scoring Plate for the Simply Scored Scoring Tool.

Of the many borders, why the zigzag?  If you look closely, you will see the bottom edge of the Be of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper strip was die-cut into a zigzag border with one of the Finishing Touches Edgelits Dies.  We have already established how well I like coordination, or what I call matchy matchy.

The card base is 4-1/4" x 11" Very Vanilla Card Stock.  It was chosen because the neutral color in the Be of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper is Very Vanilla.  The designer paper strip is 1-1/2" x 4-1/4" before die-cutting.  By placing the Finishing Touches Edgelits Die along on the edge, the width of the paper decreased very little.

The green ink is the Gumball Green Classic Stampin' Pad ink for the polka dot shamrock.  It along with Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla are the colors, or shades of, used in the Be of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper.
