A stamping friend came over and brought some handmade cards she had made.  How fun to ooh and aww over some great cards.   I used one of her cards that was a fun card template with the Stampin’ Up! Mosaic Madness Stamp Set to create my own version.  You can see Darlene Handy’s fun template card on my Stamping Smiles page on Facebook.

Stampin' Up! Mosaic Madness fun template card idea

Not my usual bottom of a handmade card but fun to break out of the mold.  Many times a card with a cut border at the bottom is not at its best when standing open.   With this template you can see the color and design peeking out fairly well.

When the card is removed from the envelope, it will be closed and really showing off the contrast of the Quatrefancy Specialty Designer Series Paper.

The hardest part was of my fun card was designing the template.  Lower in the post you find a picture of it with the measurements.

Do you like my added elements of one of the Mosaic Madness stamps stamped with Daffodil Delight Classic Stampin’ Pad ink and punched with the coordinating Mosaic Punch?  My goal was to coordinate with the underlying paper and tone down the pattern of the paper a bit.

Using the border stamp from Mosaic Madness served two purposes.  The first to coordinate with the other Daffodil Delight elements and the second to follow Darlene’s template.  There are two border stamps in the set that are quite appealing.  Someday soon I hope to create a card with one or the other or both.

Do you read a tone in the “Gee, thanks” greeting from the Stampin’ Up! Really Good Greetings?  Every time I read it, it sounds rather sarcastic in my head.  It sounds like something you’d say to a sibling that just hit you with a zinger.  Clearly my brothers have made me a bit jaded. 🙂    Stampin’ Up! had to have meant it to read “Gee!  Thanks!”

Here is my template with the measurements so it is easy for you to duplicate.

If you Designer Series Paper like Darlene and I did, you will want to adhere it to card stock first.  Our Designer Paper is thick but not card stock thick.
