My plan has been to show you many fall, Halloween and Thanksgiving cards and projects before we get full blown into Christmas 24/7.  But, when Stampin’ Up! put the Dress Up Framelits Dies on sale for 25% in this week’s Weekly Deals (October 22 – 28, 2013), that plan had to be aborted to show you this too, too cute Mrs. Santa’s dress card.

Die-Cut Dress for Mrs. Claus

This card is as easy as it is cute!  Let’s go through the steps of making Mrs. Claus’s dress with the Dress Up Framelits Dies.

  1. Die-cut the dress form with Basic Black Card Stock.
  2. Die-cut the sleeves dress with Real Red Card Stock.
  3. Die-cut the top and bottom of the sleeveless dress with Whisper White Card Stock.  Trim to the sizes shown on the Christmas card.
  4. Die-cut the waist of the dress with Basic Black Card Stock.  Trim to the size shown.
  5. Assemble and adhere the die-cut pieces.  The dress was adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the dress form.
  6. Cut a 1/4″ square from the Silver Glimmer Paper.  Cut a 1/8″ square from Basic Black Card Stock.  Layer and adhere to the black strip to make your belt buckle.

To finish the card idea I got in the Founder’s Circle swap, we need to add a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic Black Card Stock to the Real Red Card Stock card base (5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″) with SNAIL Adhesive.

Emboss a 3-3/4″ x 5″ piece of Whisper White Card Stock with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.  Adhere that with Mini Glue Dots to the Basic Black Card Stock.

For the greeting, stamp the “Have a holly jolly Christmas stamp from the Tags 4 You Stamp Set in Basic Black Classic Stampin’ Pad ink.  Punch with the coordinating Label Bracket Punch.  Adhere with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
