The evening before I left for my Founder’s Circle trip, my Stampin’ Up! Expressions Thinlits Dies were delivered. I opened them and dreamed of projects I’d make with them. That is as far as I’ve gotten with them. You can I image how thrilled I was to get a handmade harvest card using one in the Founder’s Circle swap.
A simple handmade Thanksgiving card that was stepped up with a couple of extra little touches. The most noticeable being, of course, the large “thankful” die-cut from the Expressions Thinlits Dies.
Are you wondering how she got the die-cut thankful to stick so well, especially over the five layers? I believe that good hold is from the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets. They are pretty cool. You adhere the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets to your card stock or paper before you die-cut the image. After you die-cut, you easily peel off the backing and have a sticker with incredible hold.
The thankful grabs your eye immediately. Then right after the punch art pumpkin. She punched three times with theExtra-Large Oval Punch to form the pumpkin. Absolutely love the pumpkin stem. It was created with the Modern Label Punch.
What takes a moment longer to take in is the script embossing behind the pumpkin. The Pretty Print Embossing Folder from the 2013 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog is what she used. Very nice.
You could make harvest / thanksgiving cards like this in no time at all. Punching is quick. You could emboss four of the 2-3/4″ x 3″ Very Vanilla rectangle at one time (side-by-side stacked two deep). The step that would require the most time would be die-cutting the thankful. Not long, just longer than the other steps. But, look at it, it is worth every moment.
