Remember the handmade Christmas card made with the Stampin’ Up! Calm Christmas Stamp Set in several shades of brown? That card received some nice compliments. This Calm Christmas card does not use out of the ordinary Christmas colors but will also receive compliments too. What a pretty card to wish others peace on earth.
The extra touch that stepped this card up from nice to very nice is the embossing over the dove. Easy to do, but a definite wow.
The embossing would came after the stamping. If you tried to stamp over the embossing, the results would not be quite so flattering. Actually, downright unflattering. Another benefit to embossing after is that if you did not stamp the image well, you could turn it over and try again on the other side. Turning over this embossing would have everyone trying to read backwards. 🙂
Three of the stamping products (marked with an asterisk) used for this handmade Christmas card are from the 2013 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog. As far as we know, they will only be available to order through January 2, 2014. Even though it is pretty much too late to order supplies for this year, many of my customers chose their Christmas cards for next year. If you see a card you like, you may want to get any limited-edition products while they are still available to order. You can order them in my online store www.shopwithshelly.com.
