Last week I posted a video tutorial of handmade card with the Stampin’ Up! Vivid Vases Stamp #133818.  It was stamped on the Watercolor Wonder Designer Note Cards #133362.   In the beginning of the video, it was mentioned that a card was first made with the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper #132994 that was the inspiration.  Here is the original Vivid Vases card.

Stampin' Up! Vivid Vases Watercolor Wonder DSP

This card was very easy to make.  Stamped the vases stamp on Watercolor Paper #122959 and then watercolored with watercolor pencils.  The lines on the background paper look like watercolored brushstrokes.  A cool look to coordinate with the watercolored vases.  The Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper from the 2014 Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog is the clear favorite of my stampers.  It has my favorite vote too.

Tangerine Tango (card base), Crushed Curry, Daffodil Delight, Gumball Green, Island Indigo, Smoky Slate and Whisper White make up the colors in the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper.

Watercoloring offers a soft look.  Do you also like the softness of the rounded top edges of the card?  There are two reasons I especially like them.  First reason is the front and back of the card are rounded.  That is almost impossible to do with a punch.  Punches are designed to go through one (1) sheet of card stock.  A customer did not remember that tip and broke one of my punches by punching through two sheets at the same time.  So, having round corners at the fold just didn’t happen.  You could have a rounded layer, just not the entire card.  Until the Envelope Punch Board #133774.  For some reason, I just felt like it could handle it and went for it.  It went through the two sheets like butter.

I am not recommending it, simply sharing my experience.  After the results I have had, I will continue using my Envelope Punch Board to round the corners at the fold of my cards.

The second reason I like the round corners is how large the roundness of the corners are.  Much larger than the more delicate 3/16″ Corner Punch #119871.  Each size rounded corner has a purpose to fit the personality of your handmade cards.
