This morning when I read this headline Jobs that Are in Danger of Dying Out, as someone who owns my own home-based business, I was intrigued enough to click on the link to see what the article had to say.
“How to avoid careers that are at risk of automation and switch to a safer field.
Are you worried that you might one day lose your job to a computer? The chances are greater than you might think, according to a 2013 Oxford Study entitled “The Future of Employment: How Susceptible Are Jobs to Computerisation?”
The study suggests that a whopping 47 percent of U.S. jobs are at risk of being phased out due to mechanical alternatives in perhaps the next decade or two. Some careers have as high as a 99 percent chance of computerization in the coming years. Is your job or a job you are considering one of them?” Read the full article here.
While waiting for the page to load, I knew my job would not be on the list. Can you imagine robots teaching a cardmaking class? Doing video demonstrations of how to make a card? Finding it to be a privilege to talk with customers and downline?
Owning my own stamping business has been rewarding in many ways. Besides allowing me to earn an income doing doing what I love best, earn free products and all expense paid vacations, what is priceless is the friendships you gain along the way. It starts as a shared love of stamping that evolves into sharing our lives, our laughs and tears.
Want a job you’ll love that isn’t in any risk of being automated? Start your own stamping business by joining my team of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators!
