Recently I released a new online stamping class – Sending Good Thoughts VIDEO Class. The cardmaking class is how to make cards to send words of encouragement to others. Something all of us crave, but not something we are all good at giving, or least not as good as we’d like to be.
As soon as I released the class, the message of giving encouragement kept popping up everywhere I went. Two instances are it was in our pastor’s sermon. Then again in my daily devotional book, Power Thoughts Devotional by Joyce Meyer. Today I want to share the message with you.
Encourage One Another
Therefore encourage (admonish, exhort) one another and edify (strengthen and build up) one another, just as you are doing.
1 Thessalonians 5:11
Words of encouragement build people up and strengthen them to be all they can be in life. They help people not to give up on their dreams, but to press on until they have victory.
Many of the world’s great inventions came through people who had to resist believing the discouraging words spoken to them by others. Thankfully, they didn’t give up; but how many great things were missed because people got discouraged? Probably more than we can imagine.
Absolutely anyone can make a commitment to encourage other people. All you have to do is ask God to use you, then begin to see people they way He does. He sees the good in people, and you can train yourself to do the same thing. Look for the positive and magnify it! Ask God to put encouraging things in your heart that you can speak to others.
If you’re reading this blog post, chances are very high you are a cardmaker. Then you know how touched many are when the receive a handmade card from you. They know you thought of them. We can do much more to build up others than to wish them Merry Christmas or happy birthday. You can send thinking of you cards, congrats cards for even seemingly small victories and the big ones, I know you’re struggling cards and thank you cards.
