Simple Stampin' Up! For All Things Card Idea

The Autumn Wooden Accents Embellishments from the Holiday Catalog dress up my simple Stampin’ Up! For All Things card. You might think because they’re made of wood they’re heavy. There are feather light. It will not cost any additional postage due to weight or thickness adding these to my card. Of the handmade autumn cards I’ve sent with them, haven’t had a single report of one that got broken going through the mail processing machines. That’s great news if you’d like to dress up your fall cards with them too.

Speaking of dressing up a simple handmade card, how about the three different colors for the “Grateful for You” greeting? Easy to do with the Many Marvelous Markers.

I wanted fall colors without using the expected, while perfectly lovely, Cajun Craze. For my autumn color combination, I went to my favorite color source – the Color Coach. One of the Old Olive combinations provided the Old Olive, Soft Suede Crushed Curry combo.

One other easy step to keep my simple card from being ordinary are the layers. I didn’t use the usual 1/4″ for each layer. The Crushed Curry layer is only 1/8″ larger than the Very Vanilla Cardstock. That gives each side only 1/16″ matting. With that small of a mat, your measurements need to be as exact as possible. There isn’t any room to be slightly off. For something so little, it will rat you out. 🙂 Always worth it for a slight touch-of-color accent.

While the Crushed Curry Cardstock layer is only 1/8″ larger than the Very Vanilla, it’s 1/2″ smaller than my Old Olive Cardstock card base. You can see how these two not-the-usual size layers stepped up my For All Things card.

One more ever-so-easy step up was to use Stampin’ Dimensionals behind the Crushed Curry Cardstock. You can see it pretty well in this sideview picture.
