A country wedding invitation with Bootiful Occasions

My girlfriend’s daughter is getting married. Her wedding theme is western. My friend loved the cowboy boot from the Stampin’ Up! Bootiful Occasions Stamp Set. The challenge was to then design a wedding invitation using the cowboy boot.

So we sat down and started trying different ideas. The first was that we needed two boots to make a pair. Awwww.

The wedding colors are turquoise and coral. We embossed with Early Espresso Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Tempting Turquoise Cardstock. We added a Basic Rhinestone Jewel to each. The girl bit was made more feminine by coloring the Rhinestone Jewel first with the Medium Calypso Coral Blendabilities Marker. We then wanted the look of a lacy boot sock. The closest we could get was adding a small piece of Venetian Crochet Trim. We then had a definite his and hers.

 Kick you yer heels  . . . because you’re invited to the wedding! Love the word bubble to hold the greeting. The greeting is part of the cowboy boot stamp. We inked the saying with an Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker and stamped on Crumb Cake Cardstock to coordinate with the Crumb Cake card base. So cute!

The Woodgrain background is Early Espresso Classic Stampin’ Pad ink on Early Espresso Cardstock. If you don’t have the retired Woodgrain Stamp, you can add wood texture with the Wood Embossing Folder.

The boots felt a little lonely. The addition of the Linen Thread was a nice finishing touch. The color and texture were perfect for a country wedding invitation.

Even though this was designed to be a country wedding invitation, the same card could be used for any invitation with a country theme.
