Well, did you know they made chicken feed for Easter chicks? The three chicks from the Stampin’ Up! For Peep’s Sake Stamp Set will love chomping on the Brach’s Pastel Candy Corn!
When I saw the Pastel Candy Corn was in Wisteria Wonder, Daffodil Delight and Strawberry Slush, it jumped into my shopping cart so I could make a sweet Easter treat goodie bag. For peep’s sake, this is cute!
Before filling a 4″ x 6″ Cellophane Bag with candy, I stamped the “Enjoy an egg-cellent Easter” with White StazOn Ink right onto the bag. StazOn ink is so cool. It will dry on non-porous surfaces like the cellophane bags, plastic, glass and leather. Try that will a dye (Classic Stampin’ Pads) or pigment ink pad (Whisper White Craft Pad or Gold Encore Pad), and the ink will wipe right off. With the StazOn ink, give it three to five minutes to dry.
I was pleased how well the white ink stood out against the white of the candy. It very much helped that the font of the greeting is bold.
Coloring the stamp with the Many Marvelous Markers wasn’t giving me the results I wanted. Instead I stamped the whole image in Daffodil Delight Classic Stampin’ Pad ink. The stamped again with Pistachio Pudding Classic Stampin’ Pad ink. Hand cut the Easter egg with my much loved Paper Snips and adhered right over top the yellow egg. It was quickly coming together.
The ears were stamped with Strawberry Slush Classic Stampin’ Pad ink. Again, with the Paper Snips, I trimmed the bunny ears. Detail cutting like that is easy to do when you have the easy to hold Paper Snips. The ears were lightly colored in with Pink Pirouette.
The flower blossom was stamped with Wisteria Wonder Classic Stampin’ Pad ink. Then watercolored using an Aqua Painter and Wisteria Wonder.
Now you’re really going to like this. The stem of the flower and the chicken legs and feet were traced with the Pistachio Pudding Stampin’ Write Marker and Tangerine Tango Stampin’ Write Marker right over top of the Daffodil Delight they were first stamped with. Easy, quick and looks quite good.
The For Peep’s Sake Easter goodie bag is colorful and easy to make, even with the detail cutting when you have a nice small pair of scissors, like the Paper Snips.
