A fun Christmas treat bag with elf gift tag

The Holidays Fancy Foil Designer Vellum with the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies are perfectly paired for a fun Christmas treat bag with elf gift tag!

That adorable elf from the Stampin’ Up! Christmas Cuties Stamp Set deserved a treat bag that was equally adorable.

Here are the steps to make my fun Christmas treat bag with elf gift tag.

1. There are two Thinlits Dies used to make a mini treat bag in the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies. Die-cut one of each in your Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine out of the red candy stripe pattern of Holidays Fancy Foil Designer Vellum making sure your stripes are going in the same direction.

2. Use the bigger die to die-cut just the bag front portion of another piece of red candy stripe pattern but with the stripes in the opposite direction. Die-cut just the bag front portion out of Whisper White Cardstock.

3. Apply Tear & Tape Adhesive to the edges, as
shown.
Assemble the pieces to make the bag starting by lining up the flap of the smaller die-cut piece to the right edge of the larger die-cut piece. Adhere the back flaps together. Finish by adhering the bottom flap to the back.

4. Slide the die-cut Whisper White Cardstock into the bag. This is so the candy stripe pattern stands out. Trim, if necessary, so the top does not stick up higher than the printed vellum.

5. Slide the other striped vellum piece in front of the Whisper White. This creates the plaid pattern. Pretty nifty!

6. Wrap Real Red Pompom Trim around the top of the bag. Only one loop is necessary. It holds well. It would be really bulky if you tried to tie a knot.

7. Stamp the elf from the Christmas Cuties Stamp Set on Whisper White Cardstock with Basic Black Archival Stampin’ Pad ink. Use your Aqua Painter to watercolor with Real Red, Mossy Meadow, Hello Honey, Crumb Cake and Blushing Bride Classic Stampin’ Pad inks. Scribble Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker on a non-porous surface, pick up with an Aqua Painter to color his boots and belt. Trim with Paper Snips.

8. Punch one end of 1-1/2″ x 3-3/4″ Whisper White Cardstock with Triple Banner Punch. Stamp the “It’s the most wonderful time of the year!” from the Christmas Cuties Stamp Set along the bottom of the tag. Use Fast Fuse Adhesive to adhere the elf to the tag.9. Use the 1/16″ Handheld Circle Punch to punch a hole at the top center of the tag with Real Red Classic Stampin’ Pad ink. Tie onto the Real Red Pompom Trim with Whisper White Baker’s Twine into a sweet, little bow.
