The samples of the Swirly Bird Stamp Set in the 
2016-2017 Stampin’ Up! Catalog are so cute and look simple to make. But copying this Swirly Bird card wasn’t quite as easy as expected.
Liking everything about the Swirly Bird card sample, I wanted to use the same colors. I die-cut the large swirl in Flirty Flamingo Cardstock. It wasn’t until I figured out the washi tape was from the Affectionately Yours Designer Washi Tape that I realized the pink is Watermelon Wonder. Anyone need a large die-cut Flirty Flamingo swirl? 🙂
Believing I had all the same colors, it was time to stamp. It was obvious AFTER I stamped all three swirls and set the die-cut swirls on top that I should have stamped off. Time to trim another piece of cardstock.
Neither of those were the end of the world. But it did take extra time and cardstock to make the simple card. Time I would have rather been using to copy the other two Swirly Bird card samples. I found myself wishing before I started copying the card idea that I had a list of supplies and measurements. Directions would have also been nice to know to get the same color contrast I’d need to stamp off first.
