Halloween Scares Window Card

This technique tutorial for my Stampin’ Up! Halloween Scares window card is as slick as glass!

One of my sweet stampers emailed a picture of her Christmas card with a question. She did a beautiful job watercoloring the stained glass window from the Gentle Peace Stamp Set (available on the Clearance Rack while supplies last).

Desiring a shiny glass finish, she used Dazzling Diamonds Glitter. Love that stuff, but it wasn’t the look she was trying to achieve. I then shared this slick as glass technique with her that l will demonstrate for you with my Halloween Scares card.

After you’ve finished stamping / coloring your image, press VersaMark
Ink over the entire piece of cardstock.

Sprinkle on Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Cover the entire piece.

Melt the clear embossing powder with your Heat Tool.

You end up with a clear, shiny finish.

But, wait. It’s about to get even better. Press VersaMark Ink over the entire clear embossed surface.

Again, cover the entire surface with Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder and melt with your Heat Tool. Look at how the second coating filled in all the little dents leaving us with a very smooth, glass like surface.

Double clear embossing for a technique that is as clear as glass!

Halloween Scares Card

The bonus of embossing is it intensified the ink colors, both stamped and sponged. What an easy and great way to step up your window cards!
