Look at how warped my Cutting Pad is. It’s so
warped that it will no longer feed through my Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine. Now, that’s really warped. 🙂 Keep reading for tips on how to extend the life of your Big Shot Cutting Pads.
I’ve never had one this badly warped before. What happened is a friend was using my Big Shot to die-cut a big pile of cardstock. It’s my fault that I didn’t think to tell her to periodically turn the cutting pad over and to move the die around to different positions on the cutting pad. Those two tips will help extend the life of your cutting pads.
If, or when, your cutting pads do get warped, follow these steps.
1. Wrap one cutting pad in aluminum foil.
2. Place in a baking sheet and place a heavy baking dish on top.
3. Place in oven preheated to 325 degrees for 20 to 30 minutes.
Mine was so badly warped that I added ten minutes to the baking time, five minutes at a time.

4. Let it cool completely before removing tin foil.
Look at the dramatic difference! The spot that the same die was used over and over did not completely flatten out, but it is certainly flat enough to now be able to feed through my Big Shot.
An added bonus to baking your cutting pads is a lot of the embedded paper in it pops out.
