The pumpkins and gourds are so realistic you’ll be trying to convince your friends and family it isn’t a picture and that you truly did make your Stampin’ Up! Gourd Goodness card!
Kudos to the designer of the Gourd Goodness Stamp Set. Even though my girlfriend sat across from me and watched me stamp the pumpkins and gourds, she couldn’t help herself from touching them. They are so realistic she expected to feel the texture of the pumpkins and gourds.
The secret, second only to the design of the pumpkins and gourd stamps, is that Gourd Goodness is a two-step stamp set. That means it takes at least two steps to complete an image. The first step is to stamp the most detailed stamp in your darkest color and then the most solid stamp stamped directly over top in a lighter color. That gives you the remarkable shading and detail.
The 2017 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog states to “Use the Seasonal Layers dies to cut out multiple accents.” That is absolutely true. The die-cut leaves on my hand stamped Gourd Goodness card are from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies. They do provide a fantastic decorative touch. But, I want you to know the leaf die is not the same shape to die-cut the leaf stamp in the Gourd Goodness Stamp Set.

Love this card and the set ! Awesome! 🙂
Thank you! Can hardly get over how realistic the pumpkins and gourds are.
Your welcome! I know they look so real!
Hello.
I just got this stamp set and was so excited to use it. But, all I get are muddy images that are dull and lifeless. What suggestions do you have that will improve my results. HELP!
Hi! That’s disappointing. I can’t imagine why you’re getting those results because when I stamp with it I’m blown away with how realistic they look. I suggest calling Stampin’ Up!
I had a similar situation. For me, it was technique and practice. First of all, I had to get the feel of how much ink was needed. I was over-inking my stamp pads. And I then must have stamped 30 or 40 different images between Gourd Goodness and Painted Harvest. I haven’t been stamping for awhile, and was rusty. I am finally getting better at two-step stamping. But I’m still working on figuring out the ink issue. Hope this helps, good luck!
Wow! That is so pretty!!
Thank you!
Beautiful card, nicely balanced!
Thank you!

Hi Shelly! They say imitation is the most sincere for of flattery. So consider yourself sincerely flattered, because I am using your Gourd Goodness card idea to make my Thanksgiving cards! Would you mind telling me the color combinations you used for your gourds? I would appreciate it so very much! ? ☺
