This was my first eclipse card with the Stampin’ Up! Large Letters Framelits Dies. It’s such a cool look of the letters popping out of the background paper.
The hearts background paper is one of the twelve patterns from the limited-edition Painted Love Specialty Designer Series Paper from the 2018 Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog. The eclipse technique worked well with the mostly white background.
The “shadow” is created with the Rich Razzleberry Cardstock showing under the die-cut letters for this handmade Valentine’s Day card.
For this first attempt using the eclipse card technique, the XOXO letters were centered from left to right and top to bottom. The top to bottom centering looked off to me. I moved the letters up and used a darker pattern paper for my one. You can see my second eclipse card here and watch a video demonstrating the technique.
Order the Large Letters Framelits to make eclipse cards for Valentine’s Day or other holidays and occasions to spell out the greetings of your choice in my online store www.shopwithshelly.com.
