The mostly monochromatic Stampin’ Up! Peaceful Poinsettia card sample on page 23 of the 2018 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog (pictured below) drew me in. So much so, I just had to get the Peaceful Poinsettia Bundle and make a similar card. My remake has a good bit more color.
One of my sweet downline was trying to picture how the border die worked with the poinsettia die. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so I have pictures to show you how to make my handmade poinsettia Christmas card. It all starts with the die-cutting. Place the border die flush with two edges with the poinsettia die tucked in.
The poinsettia Framelits Die was used to die-cut Real Red Cardstock and adhered to the back with a Fine Tip Glue Pen. You can see how to get the Crushed Curry center in my pretty poinsettia card tutorial here.
Fill in the greenery with a piece of Shaded Spruce cardstock covering the back.
Die-cut Real Red Cardstock on the border die for red berries. A drop of Fine Tip Glue Pen on each berry and you’re ready to do a bit of paper-piecing with the new Take Your Pick Tool.
Here’s the card sample that was the inspiration.
And a recap of the steps to make my handmade Christmas card with poinsettias.
Monochromatic or a more colorful remake, both are beautiful options for your homemade Christmas cards.
