Happy Easter! Today is the day we celebrate the promise of the empty tomb. The idea for a handmade empty tomb card with the Stampin’ Up! Grace’s Garden Bundle has been percolating since I first saw the open die for the gate. The bundle went on backorder before I could get it made. Then, I didn’t want to tease you with something you couldn’t order.
The backorder report has been reading for weeks the Grace’s Garden Bundle and Garden Gateway Dies are expected to be available the week of April 13. It makes today, April 12, the perfect day to send my Easter blessings and empty tomb card idea in hopes you will be able to order the bundle very soon.
The size of the brick from the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder was the perfect size for the tomb wall. It was meant to be. Some of the bricks were sponged with Smoky Slate Classic Stampin’ Pad ink to stand out and give a variety of shades of color.
The stone was made with the Layering Circles Dies. My first draft had the stone without the sentiment. It felt like my handmade card was not quite yet done. It was missing something. I attempted to put “Happy Easter” from the Easter Promise Stamp Set inside the tomb. There wasn’t room for it or the sentiment of “May the promise of His wonderful gift fill your heart with peace & joy.”
When the sentiment was stamped onto the rolled away stone, it was finished.
