One of my sweet stampers asked while placing her order with me what colors were used on the Stampin’ Up! Prized Peony Stamp Set sample on page 178 in the new 2020-2021 Stampin’ Up! Catalog. I forgot all about that gorgeous handmade card tucked away at the back of the catalog. It simply had to be made!
The stem and leaves stamp and greeting are from the stamp set. Trying to figure out how to build the peony with the Peony Dies was most likely the reason I hadn’t made it sooner than today. Turns out, as it usually does, it is much easier than expected. Stampin’ Up! did a first-class job on making it simple for us with the shape of the dies that frankly look a bit odd.
Let’s have a closer look at the die-cut peony on the first.
Now the die images that coordinate with the Stampin’ Up! Prized Peony Stamp Set.
You slid the second die with the arrow pointing at it from the left into the bottom of the first. The bottom of the flower layer looks odd because it is designed to line up with the first. You can see it in this photo.
The same thing with the third die.
Repeat with the fourth die and then slid the center die-cut into place. Smart design. Once you’ve built one, add adhesive for each layer to get a gorgeous handmade card.
