I thought it would look awesome to have a washed-out background look for the greeting to pair with the watercolored trees. The look was achieved with the new Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Shapes Stamp Set from the 2021-2022 Stampin’ Up! Catalog. Love it, don’t you too? 

The Merry Merlot Classic Stampin’ Pad ink needed to be lightened so the greeting would be easy to read. The Stamping Off Technique was used for that. You ink your stamp and then stamp at least once on a piece of scrap paper. That allows you to use a lighter version of your chosen color. Something interesting happened for my Stampin’ Up! Sunny Sentiments card.

The right image was stamped with the Basic White Cardstock on my table. The stamped image was not supposed to be solid, but it sure was supposed to not have complete voids.  After a few tries, it finally dawned on me to grab my Stampin’ Pierce Mat. You see the amazing difference with the image stamped on the left. Keep that in mind when using photopolymer (clear) stamps, especially.
