Switch it up from the traditional red for handmade Valentine’s Day cards. Instead, make my Stampin’ Up! Sweet Conversations card in soft and pretty colors!
The three hearts in three sizes were stamped with Pool Party, Petal Pink, and Highland Heather Classic Stampin’ Pad inks (all the card supplies are listed below). Three of the colors used for the pattern of Sweet Talk 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper for my handmade Valentine’s Day card idea.
I used the four lines stamp included with the set to create a background in the same color of the hearts by creating a hashtag. The lines stamp was first stamped horizontally for placement then vertically on Basic White 8-1/2″ x 11″ Cardstock die-cut with one of the Scalloped Contours Dies. The center Pool Party heart is larger than the other two. The horizontal lines were stamped twice, overlapping some. The vertical lines were also stamped twice with overlapping too. Practice on scrap paper first.
Pool Party 8-1/2″ x 11″ Cardstock was cut to the same size, 3-3/4″ x 2-1/2″, as the scalloped rectangle to provide just a hint of color to stand out against the heart background paper for my Stampin’ Up! Sweet Conversations card.
The layered Sweet Talk Designer Series Paper and hearts layers were adhered to the card base at a bit of an angle. If you’re going to break out of the mold of red only for Valentine’s Day, change up the squarely adhered layers too.
