Can you think of a more adorable stamp set to make a birthday card for a six-year-old than the Stampin’ Up! Awesome Otters? My swimmingly adorable handmade birthday card will be well received by anyone from 6 to 66. 

My Awesome Otters card idea was quick and easy to make because I let the Sale-a-bration Special exclusive Sunshine & Rainbows 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper create the water and sunny sky for this little guy. A third pattern provided a colorful background that looks, um, awesome with the other two. 

I stamped the otter in the water directly onto the loops patterned paper then again on Basic White Cardstock. 

He was then hand-trimmed quite effortlessly with the beloved Paper Snips. Small scissors that are comfortable to hold and make trimming by hand a pleasure. He and the water around him were colored with Stampin’ Blends (all the colors are pictured below). Stampin’ Blends are alcohol markers in exclusive Stampin’ Up! colors for remarkable coloring and shading along with coordination of other color products. Notice how well the colors of the background paper, cardstock, and alcohol markers coordinate together for an eye-pleasing look for my Stampin’ Up! Awesome Otters card.

As it the three otters aren’t irresistible enough, the pun delivered “you are otterly awesome” greeting is the perfect finishing touch for my homemade birthday card idea.
