In my July thank you card video, I shared the Stampin’ Up! Perched in a Tree Bundle was one of my top favorites from the July – December 2022 Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalog. You can then imagine how delighted I was for you when the Aspen Trees Dies was added as one of the FREE gifts with $100 purchase for the July & August 2022 Sale-a-bration Special. It was a great excuse to jump ahead of fall card samples to make my elegant handmade Christmas card idea to share with you.

Using the Aspen Trees Dies to die-cut Basic White Cardstock is most certainly beautiful. I decided to take a different approach and use Crumb Cake Cardstock instead and add snow. You may be able to read the bottle label that I first tried the white Pearlized Enamel Effects Basics. Pretty but not bold enough after it dried.

Out came the Snowfall Accents Puff Paint dried with a Heat Tool. Voila! Just the look I wanted. An opaque white with dimension, just like snow but warmer. 🙂

Peeking through the trees is the snow flurries pattern from the Snowflake 12″ x 12″ Specialty Vellum. Beautiful. Behind the snowflake vellum is a sheet of Balmy Blue Cardstock and then mounted on Balmy Blue Cardstock for the card base. Adding the Balmy Blue behind the vellum made the embossed card stock and vellum sturdier when adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the card base. The bit of a lift is attractive.

Also worth noting is the Aspen Trees die-cut Crumb Cake Cardstock was then embossed with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder. The wood grain embossing is a nice touch.
