Even before using one stamp, you know that the Stampin’ Up! Leaves of Holly Stamp Set from the July-December 2022 Catalog is beautiful. The sample cards in it are too. I decided to start from scratch and ended up with this simple yet stunning handmade Christmas card.
The large holly leaves, berries, and pine boughs quickly build a pretty-as-a-picture background for the highly decorative label die-cut for the “Christmas Wishes” greeting.
The holly leaves and berries are created with two stamps. One is mostly solid, and the second one provides the detail. Here’s a hint to line them up easily. Start with the detail/outline stamp. I stamped the outline holly stamp with Shaded Spruce Classic Stampin’ Pad ink. That was followed by inking the mostly solid stamp in the same color, stamping on a piece of scrap paper to lighten the color, then stamping inside the outline. Voila. Easy placement! I did the same for the berries for my Stampin’ Up! Leaves of Holly card but this time, I inked and stamped the solid berries stamp three times to get the desired depth of color.
The “Wishing you the Hope and Peace of Christ this season” sentiment from the Hope & Peace Stamp Set flowed well with the Christmas Wishes greeting.
The addition of the Gold Holly Leaves gave that great finishing touch.
